Target group

Erasmus+ is open to a wide range of organisations across all sectors of education, training youth and sport. Any Icelandic public, private or non-profit organisation actively involved in these areas is able to apply for funding through the programme.

Objectives

Erasmus+ is the EU's programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe. Its budget of €14.7 billion will provide opportunities for over 4 million Europeans to study, train, gain experience, and volunteer abroad. Set to last until 2020, Erasmus+ doesn't just have opportunities for students. Merging seven prior programmes, it has opportunities for a wide variety of individuals and organisations.

A new Erasmus programme startedin 2021, supporting learning mobility, cooperation and innovative policy developments in the fields of education, training, youth and sport.

The role of Rannís

Rannís is the National Agency for Erasmus+ in Iceland. The aim of Rannís is to help Icelandic organisations to make the most of the opportunities provided by the programme so that Erasmus+ can have a positive impact on the fields of education, training and youth in Iceland.
