Erasmus+ is open to a wide range of organisations across all sectors of education, training youth and sport. Any Icelandic public, private or non-profit organisation actively involved in these areas is able to apply for funding through the programme.
Erasmus+ is the EU's programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe. Its budget of €14.7 billion will provide opportunities for over 4 million Europeans to study, train, gain experience, and volunteer abroad. Set to last until 2020, Erasmus+ doesn't just have opportunities for students. Merging seven prior programmes, it has opportunities for a wide variety of individuals and organisations.
A new Erasmus programme startedin 2021, supporting learning mobility, cooperation and innovative policy developments in the fields of education, training, youth and sport.

Read moreInstitutions, companies and universities applying for international research funds. Priority is given to those who apply for the Horizon Europe EU research and innovation program, it is possible to support other international collaboration according to the decision of the fund's board.
The objective is to support researchers working at Icelandic universities, research institutes or companies who want to participate in international research projects. The boards of the Icelandic Research Fund and the Technology Development Fund contribute up to 50 million ISK in 2021 to the Preparatory Grant Scheme.

Companies that own research or development projects. Universities and institutions are not considered companies within the meaning of this program.
Companies that have received Rannís confirmation of research or development projects are entitled to a deduction from income tax according to Art. Act no. 152/2009 . If the income tax levied is lower than the determined deduction, or the legal entity does not pay income tax, the deduction is paid out.
