Ágúst Hjörtur Ingþórsson

Ágúst Hjörtur Ingþórsson is the General Director of Rannís - The Icelandic Centre for Research.

The General Director is responsible towards the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation for the operation of Rannís. The General Director is responsible for the daily operation of Rannís and represents the institution externally, as well as being responsible for following the Icelandic laws and regulations as well as governmental instructions in the field of science and innovation.

Main tasks:

• Representing Rannís at the ministries and Science and Technology Board
• Representing Rannís towards customers and cooperative partners
• International relations and cooperation with similar organisations
• Representing Rannís at different boards and councils
