The Children's Culture Fund of Iceland

The Children's Culture Fund of Iceland was established by Alþingi, the Icelandic Parliament, by a resolution made on the plain of Þingvellir on the 18th of July 2018, to celebrate the centennial of Iceland's sovereignty.

The fund enjoys a contribution from the state budget for the next five years (2019-2023), 100 million ISK a year. Hence, it is a public initiative, intended to support diverse cultural activities for the benefit of children and young people.

Eligible applicants are: Artists, arts and culture organizations, NGOs, and others engaged in cultural activities for children and youth in accordance with official cultural policies. Children's culture pertains to projects in the field of art and culture that are prepared for children and/or with the active participation of children.

The fund receives applications once a year by the end of March. For more information, see the fund‘s Icelandic page.
