Erasmus+ eTwinning

Target group

Teachers and other staff in pre-schools, primary-schools, lower- and upper-secondary schools.

Objectives

eTwinning is the community for schools in Europe—a free and safe platform for teachers to connect, develops collaborative projects, share ideas and develop professionally.

Applications deadline

Participation in eTwinning does not require applications or reports, therefore there are no deadlines. However, eTwinning does organise quality labels and award competitions for good work and provides grants for participation in Professional Development Workshops—application deadlines for these are advertised by the National Support Service when applicable.

What is eTwinning?

  • eTwinning, which is a part of the EU‘s education programme Erasmus+, is a save and free community and collaboration platform for schools in Europe.
  • eTwinning provides tools to find partners and run simple, web based projects with them. It also provides professional development opportunities, both online and face-to-face workshops.
  • Simplicity is at the heart of eTwinning, hence its motto: KISS—keep it short and simple.

The Role of Rannís

In each participating country there is a National Support Service (NSS) that provides eTwinners with support and training. The Icelandic NSS is Rannís.
