What are the objectives?

The ECML's Strategic Objectives are to help its member states implement effective language teaching policies by:

  • focusing on the practice of the learning and teaching of languages
  • promoting dialogue and exchange among those active in the field 
  • training multipliers 
  • supporting programme-related networks and research projects

Who can apply?

Workshops are advertised to appropriate target groups among language teachers and professionals in language education.

Requirements

Participants have to fit the profile for a specific workshop. Member states of the ECML may normally select one participant for each central event organised via their National Nominating Authority. The national authorities will choose and nominate the most appropriate participant from their countries, on the basis of the project/event description and national procedures and priorities.

The Role of Rannís

Rannís is the National Contact Point for ECML in Iceland. The aim of Rannís is to disseminate information and documentation relating to the European Centre for Modern Languages, its activities and its project results among institutions, associations and experts working at national level in the field of modern language education, as well as to other interested groups/individuals. The University of Iceland is the National Nominating Authority for ECML in Iceland. It is  responsible for selecting participants to the Centre's activities.
