European Solidarity Corps helps young people between 18 and 30 to take part in projects that benefit communities, either abroad or in their own country.
Except for Solidarity Projects where young people can apply directly, the Corps mainly involves young people through organisations, institutions, public or private bodies that organise solidarity activities.
The general objective of the European Solidarity Corps is to enhance the engagement of young people and organisations in accessible and high-quality solidarity activities, primarily volunteering. The programme brings together young people to build a more inclusive society, supporting vulnerable people and responding to societal and humanitarian challenges.
The European Solidarity Corps funding is provided in the form of grants to organisations through call for proposals .
With a dedicated budget of €1.009 billion, the 2021-2027 European Solidarity Corps programme will offer opportunities to at least 270,000 young people.
The programme promotes inclusion and diversity, green practices and environmentally sustainable and responsible behaviour. It supports the digital transition through projects and activities and promotes participation of young people in democratic processes and civic engagement.
Detailed information on these opportunities, including eligibility criteria, is available in the European Solidarity Corps Programme Guide.
Rannís is the National Agency for European Solidarity Corps programme in Iceland. The aim of Rannís is to help Icelandic organisations to make the most of the opportunities provided by the programme, and to help young people in Iceland to take part in projects that benefit communities, either abroad or in their own country
