75 years Anniversary Conference

Rannís celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2015, as the former Icelandic Research Council was formally established in 1940, marking the start of public support for research and development.

To celebrate the occasion, Rannís and the Science and Technology Policy Council organised a special 75th Anniversary Conference, Thursday 26 November 2015 at 14:00-16:00, at The Reykjavík Hilton Nordica.

Guests had the opportunity to look into the history of research and innovation, education and culture and look towards the future of Rannís and its latest development. The Motivation Award for Young Scientists was awarded at the convention.

The conference ended with an informal reception.
