Digital Europe will shape Europe's digital future and support projects that bridge the gap between research and development and digital products in the market. The program provides strategic funding for projects in five key areas:

  • Supercomputers
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Network security
  • Digital skills
  • Digital innovation hubs


The time of the year when new applications are opened varies depending on the focus of the program. On November 21, 2023, three applications in the field of cybersecurity and digital competence opened, and the application deadline is March 21, 2024.

What are the objectives?

The Digital Europe Programme (DIGITAL) is a new EU funding programme focused on bringing digital technology to businesses, citizens and public the public sector. The goal of the program is to address one of the biggest challenges of our time - the digital transition. The program is an addition to other programs such as  Horizon Europe, but is intended to work seamlessly with them and thus create synergy.

Who can apply?

Companies (especially small and medium-sized ones), individuals, organizations and public entities.


In order for an application to be considered eligible, it must meet the conditions set out in the application process and the connection with the fund's objectives must be obvious.

The role of Rannís

Rannís oversees the program in collaboration with the Ministry of Universities, Industry and Innovation and the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs.
