The programme is based on a Memorandum of Understanding concerning co-operation between Iceland and Norway in the field of Arctic scientific research. The Icelandic and Norwegian Ministries of Foreign Affairs finance the Artic Research and Studies programme. The Icelandic Centre for Research (Rannis) is responsible for the administration of programme in cooperation with The Norwegian Agency for International Cooperation and Quality Enhancement in Higher Education (Diku). The contact person for the programme at Rannis is Egill Thor Níelsson and the contact person at Diku is Synne Lysberg (Synne Lysberg).
Grants are awarded for preparatory support for the initiation of joint grant applications
Icelandic and Norwegian institutions can apply and be partners.
Individuals can not apply.
