To support research infrastructure in Iceland by co-financing purchase and build-up of equipment, databases, software and any other research infrastructure that is important for scientific progress. This includes financing updates of existing infrastructures and access to domestic or foreign infrastructures. For this purpose the following grant types are offered:
The grant can cover up to 75% of the total infrastructure costs without Value Added Tax (VAT). The applicants are responsible for securing own contribution of a minimum 25% of the total cost.
The contribution of IF shall be a minimum of ISK 2 million for equipment purchases, development of research infrastructures and upgrades or maintenance of older research facilities. There is no
minimum amount for access to research infrastructures.
