14.4.2020 : New research center on ocean, climate and society in collaboration with the Carlsberg Foundation, the Icelandic authorities and the Icelandic Research Fund

On the occasion of the 80th birthday of Queen Margrethe on 16 April and the 90th birthday of former Icelandic President Vigdís Finnbogadóttir on April 15 this year, the Carlsberg Foundation establishes a Danish-Icelandic research center in collaboration with Icelandic authorities to increase our understanding of the interaction between climate and ecosystems and the importance of climate-related changes in the ocean to culture and society in Iceland.

1.4.2020 : Announcing Dr. Gerlis Fugmann as IASC's Next Executive Secretary

Dr. Gerlis Fugmann comes to IASC with extensive experience in Arctic research and international organizations. She held the position of Executive Director of the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) since October 2013 based at the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) in Germany, and before at the UiT The Arctic University of Norway in Norway.
