Introduction at the University of Akureyri about the EU LIFE programme

The LIFE programme funds projects that address environmental and climate change. With Iceland's participation in the program, various parties in Iceland have the opportunity to apply for grants. An introduction to LIFE will be held, at the University of Akureyri on March 9.

An introduction will be given on LIFE, the EU's Programme for Environment and Climate Actions on 9 March at 14.30-16.00 at the University of Akureyri, Borgir, Room R402

Agenda:

  • What is LIFE? Gyða Einarsdóttir, Senior Advisor at Rannis and the programme's National Contact Point, presents the programme; it's objectives, sub-programmes and different types of grants.
  • Get a LIFE! - How Ottó tried and failed and tried again to get a LIFE grant. Ottó Elíasson, Head of reasearch and development at Eimur, a partnership focussing on the improved utilisation of local natural resources in the North of Iceland, discusses his experience of the application process.

The presentations will be in English but following questions and discussions might be in Icelandic.

The meeting is intended for all interested in learning abour LIFE and the opportrunities it has to offer.
