LIFE – EU's funding instrument for the environment and climate action

A presentation on the LIFE programme and newly published calls for proposals will be given on 1 June at 14:00-16:00.

It is a hybrid event since the presentation will take place at the Rannís premises at Borgartún 30, meeting room Hvammur third floor, and be available online through Teams. Please register if you are interested before end of day 26 May.

The LIFE programme has been funding projects in the field of environment and climate actions since 1992 but Iceland has only recently begun participation. By participating, Icelandic municipalities, NGOs, organisations and companies, can now apply for funding of projects under the scope of the LIFE programme.

The current financial period is 2021-2027 and over 5,4 billion Euros have been allocated to activities in the following fields:

  •  Nature and biodiversity
  • Circular Economy and Quality of Life
  • Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation
  • Clean Energy Transition

Calls for proposals were published on the EU's Funding and Tenders Portal on 17 May.
