The Board of the Icelandic Research Fund has allocated funding to new research projects for 2015 based on expert panels' evaluation. Below is information about funded projects according to type of grant.
The number of eligible proposals sent to the Icelandic Research Fund for the 1 June 2014 deadline was 226 for a total of 2.353.628 thousand ISK, out of which 67 will be funded, or 29,6% of proposals. The total amount allocated for projects in 2015 is 724.264 thousand ISK or 30,8% of the total requested amount.
Grants of Excellence
Sixteen proposals for Grants of Excellence were received for a total of 541.524 thousand ISK, out of which 5 will be funded, or 31,3% of proposals. The total amount allocated is 164.259 thousand ISK or 30,3% of the total requested amount. Grants of Excellence account for 22,7% of the total allocation of the Icelandic Research Fund for 2015.
Postdoctoral fellowships
Thirty five proposals for Postdoctoral fellowships were received for a total 256.614 thousand ISK, out of which 10 will be funded, or 28,6% of proposals. The total amount allocated is 76.834 thousand ISK or 29,9% of the total requested amount. Postdoctoral Fellowships account for 10,6% of the total allocation of the Icelandic Research Fund for 2015.
Project Grants
A total of 175 proposals for Project Grants were received for a total of 1.555.490 thousand ISK, out of which 52 will be funded, or 29,7% of proposals. The total amount allocated is 483.171 thousand ISK or 31,1% of the total requested amount. Project Grants account for 66,7% of the total allocation of the Icelandic Research Fund for 2015.
