The Commission of the European Union has published the European Innovation Scoreboard. Iceland gets high ranking when it comes to Innovation.

Iceland is sharing 5th place with Denmark when it comes to Summary Innovation Index but is in 1st place when it comes to average change in innovation indicatiors. That means that Iceland i 5th when it comes to innovation but shows the best results when comparing with last measurement.
