European Researchers' Night, or Vísindavaka, returns this year and will be organised by Rannís in Laugardalshöll in Reykjavík on 28 September at 16:30-22:00.
Vísindavaka brings together the whole science and innovation community in Iceland in one large event, where the public at large can meet researchers and learn about their work through hands-on exhibition, workshops and science cafés. The objective of the event is to increase the public's awareness of the improtance of science and innovation and to invite the public to engage directsly with researchers. A special focus is given to families and young people, that might consider a career in science. European Researchers' Night is funded by the European Commission and organised in over 300 towns and cities all over Europe.
